Rivervalley.locallygrown market is open for your shopping pleasure. Place your orders early to be somewhat assured that you will receive your desired merchandise. The announcement below is about a field day to be conducted later this year but it is announced now so you can put it on your calendar. Go to the link and sign up if you plan to attend.
Bluebird Hill Berry Farm
Farm Field Day
Jerry and Jeaneane Markham, owner/operators of the Bluebird Hill Berry Farm wish to invite all customers to visit the farm. The field day will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a hamburger meal being provided (meat, buns, mustard & ketchup) by the Markhams. Anyone wishing to bring burger condiments, i.e. pickles, lettuce, onions, olives, tomatoes, chips, etc. is welcome. Drinks will be lemonade, tea or water (provided). Sodas will be furnished by the visitors. Ice will be provided.
The field tour will begin following the meal. The tour will be either on foot or on a trailer similar to a hay ride. We will visit the areas where vegetables are produced and discuss production practices. The blackberry field and muscadine vineyard will be toured. Egg and meat production practices will be viewed and discussed.
